Author Spotlight: Sarah Dessen

This is month three for my Author Spotlight and I am going to shine the light on Sarah Dessen.

I really wanted to dedicate a month to reading as many of her books because of all the praise I read about online. I have seen so many awesome reviews for her and knew I had to get her books. (and the covers are also all so pretty...I'm a sucker for pretty books!)

Now here is the little bio...I took the info from her site (if you want more information, be sure to click on the photo up top to get to her site)

Sarah was born in 1970 in the state of Illinois, but grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She grew up in a reading house since her mom taught the classics and her dad taught Shakespeare, both at UNC. Sarah went off to University of North Carolina and graduated with an English degree. She started writing since she was little, but sold her first book three years after graduating. Now, she still lives in NC with her own family and has nine novels published. And just so you know...she is a coffee girl : )

Here are the books...
That Summer (1996)
Someone Like You (1998)
Keeping the Moon (aka Last Chance) (1999)
Dreamland (2000)
This Lullaby (2002)
The Truth About Forever (2004)
Just Listen (2006)
Lock and Key (2008)
Along For the Ride (2009)

Books adapted into movies...
How to Deal...based on That Summer and Someone Like You (2003)

Here are favorite childhood authors...
Judy Blume and Lois Lowry

After reading S. Dessen's books...you might enjoy...
Books by Deb Calletti
***Wild Roses
***Honey, Baby, Sweetheart

Now go and grab your cup of tea or hazelnut coffee (or whatever beverage you prefer) along with a Sarah Dessen book and HAPPY readings!!!
